Mothers

This series is dedicated to all the faceless, nameless mothers of history, who influenced some of the most influential figures that we know. Motherhood wields the powers of co-creation with the Universe extending to the evolution of humanity, and the collective consciousness. She wields the power of birthing worlds, civilizations, revolutions, invention, ingenuity, creative works, and whatever the imagination holds. Her influences reach beyond her fame. She is a goddess in her own aspect and sovereignty. Each mother chooses her own unique path; there is no one-size-fits-all approach, as each mother has her own unique journey and experience. From her experiences comes the wisdom that mothers can share with their children, making her the most influential person on earth.

L Aerin Collett Fine Art- Mother of Hathor

Mother of Hathor

This is an interesting work, as Hathor, the Egyptian Goddess, known as the Mother of Horus and Ra, and the mother of Pharos. But she is also known as the Mother of Mothers. So the idea here is that she is the mother and the daughter, the idea of the "I AM".

L Aerin Collett Fine Art- Mother of Hypatia

Mother of Hypatia

"The Mother of Hypatia" shows interaction of teaching values through her gestures and animals I associated with the mother to communicate attributes that I speculate you would have to teach a daughter at that time period to be so intellectually inclined outside her gender.

L Aerin Collett Fine Art- Mother of Methuselah

Mother of Methuselah

"The Mother of Methuselah" was the first in my Mother series. The idea formed when I decided to turn some of mu old life drawings into paintings. When I pulled this figure I immediately saw her sitting on a Methuselah tree, or a Bristle Cone Pine. Thats when the idea came to me to do a series of historical figures mothers.
